Just curious -- will the Pixels available from Verizon have been "rigged" (ha ha) to work only on CDMA, unlike the Google Store Pixels which work on CDMA and GSM? Coz I can see that happening very easily.
I would try another store. I am in the same boat as you and have never had any issues purchasing phones. They did give me a hard time about activating my Note 4 when I purchased it outright but a quick talk with the manager at the store and they activated it with no issues.I would buy one from Verizon, but they wouldn't sell to me because my phone was on a corporate account and I wasn't the owner...not sure why that matters if I'm willing to plop down $800 cash right there?
Oh, and also remember that if you do get it from Verizon, you're getting a Verizon phone. Unlocked, yes. But updates (albeit less terrible than originally announced) are still going to be managed by Verizon.
What about a best buy store? Last time I bought a phone outright was at best buy. I was able to buy the phone at full price and then I took it to a Verizon store to activate it. Granted that was 6 years ago. You could say that you wanted to buy it there but activate it at Verizon because they didn't have any in store. It could work... Unless you wanted a blue one then you'd be screwed.
Or the 128 GB model. Best Buy was only showing 32 GB on pre-order
I was told yesterday by a Best Buy rep that Best Buy will be selling 128GB models on the 20th. He said that Google wouldn't let BB sell preorders of the 128GB models... that doesn't make any sense to me, but whatever.
actually makes sense that way they can get rid of that weak *** 32gb stock up frontI was told yesterday by a Best Buy rep that Best Buy will be selling 128GB models on the 20th. He said that Google wouldn't let BB sell preorders of the 128GB models... that doesn't make any sense to me, but whatever.
