Will I have to pay Verizon $10 a month to use my free Gear S2 Watch?

Now that I have pre-ordered a Galaxy S7 Edge and plan on selecting the free Gear S2 watch I was wondering if I will have to pay Verizon $10.00 a month to add the smart watch to my phone plan? To take full advantage of the 3G watch, it needs to be linked to a phone plan and we all know Verizon will charge for that.

It is $5/mo,if you wish to use it on 3g. Otherwise no cost for using it on Bluetooth only

I was told by a VZW rep that you had to add the plan as stipulation to the promotion which didn't make sense since it was coming from Samsung.

Yes, I called back and spoke to a supervisor to make sure and we do not have to add a line for it if we don't want to.

I was told the same thing and just went with it. My preorder confirmation has both the phone and the watch on it with a discount for the full amount of the watch. Which is confusing because, like dirt4444, I was under the impression that the watch was coming from Samsung.

I spoke with Verizon Yesterday. They said as long as i dont open the Gear s2, i can return it in store and exchange it for a Moto 360 2. Can't wait!

I hope they let me exchange it for a gear s2 classic. I spoke to a Cs rep and she said no. I'll try my luck in an actual store

Thats what i'm hoping. You know the story with Cs's, they all say something different. I'm hoping you can exchange it, but the logical black and white side of me says no, considering Samsung is the one you are redeeming it from, not Verizon.

The watch is only being offered through Verizon as a promotion ATT sells the watch, as long as you do it on a contract, not through a promotion.

I was planning on giving this a go for the classic as it was a no go with online sales.
But I don't see the classic version in stock in any brick and mortar locations.
