Will I receive missed text messages when I get a new sim card and put it in my phone?

I lost my phone and don't want anyone to use the sim card. It was dead when I lost it. If I get a new sim card with the same information and put it in my replacement, will I receive the missed text messages from the other phone on the new one?

If you keep the same number you should be able to receive missed messages
