Will ICS improve benchmark scores?

This may be a noob question, and I know many people think benchmark tests are irrelevant, but I'm curious. Depending on which application I use to benchmark my phone, half the time the Rezound outperforms the Nexus, and the other half of the time the Nexus outperforms the Rezound.

So will ICS improve the benchmark scores on the Rezound? Thanks in advance!
