Rooted nexus 5 ota update

I have a somewhat rooted Nexus 5, meaning it says it's rooted even though I don't have superuser.
Will I still get the lolipop OTA or do I have to stock reset it on my phone or unroot it?
And if I have to, what's the easiest way to do it?

EDIT: I used SuperSU to unistall everything, and now I did root checker it said I wasn't rooted. However, I still see the .data files in my root folder... Am i still rooted?

The update will fail if your phone is rooted. The easiest way to update is to do a hard reset, which will remove root, and then install the update.

My phone was rooted using the Towel Root method. I side loaded the OTA and it worked fine. Of course I don't have root any longer but that was expected.

No, you should be good now. I have the paid version of SuperSU, and I am usually successful using Survival mode.

Re: Rooted nexus 5 ota update

Hey guys I have a rooted nexus 5 with ClockworkMod Recovery. I got the Lollipop update on my phone. I wanted to know if I could install it on my phone. It doesn't matter if it breaks root. I just want. Lollipop on my phone.

My Nexus 5 was rooted. I downloaded the Nexus Root Tool Kit to my PC, it is an all-in-one program to root, unroot, and flash your Nexus device. I had the program flash stock image and I told it that was Lollipop and not KitKat, so it downloaded and flashed Lollipop onto my phone.
