Will OS upgrade increase the speed

I have Samsung S3 GT-i9300 with OS 4.1. The speed is 2G. Will an upgrade to 4.2 increase the speed to 4G?

Well that was a bit harsh Alex.

@nalim, unless the phone is 4G compatible and your service provider offers 4G in your area it won't automatically upgrade to 4G.
