Will Play Store update after account change or for Sideloaded apps?

So I'm retiring an older Nexus S and giving it to a family member. It has a tonne of apps and games that she might be interested in so am not factory resetting the device, merely deleting my Google IDs etc and she can then setup her Google ID.

My questions are:

1) Will the apps and games I have downloaded using my Google ID, continue to get Play Store updates one the ID is changed?

2) Does this differ for free and paid apps?

3) What about Apps that are not from the Play Store (say if I got them from Amazon App store or I factory reset the device and then re-install all the APKs). Is there a way to "link" them to the Play Store so that it recognises and updates them?

4) Finally are there piracy implications to using apps that are fully paid for but being used by some other member of my family?

Thanks

Those apps are linked to you...your account. Paid apps should not work on the phone after you remove the account. Is that not the case? I would wipe the phone for safety and download the apps back .

If you log off the device all apps will be removed. It will no longer be linked to your account. Have them use a new Google account and use wifi to install apps on the new account. If you leave your account linked to the phone, which you can, they will have access to your data over wifi.

Fairly certain it doesn't apply to all apps. I tested this with dummy accounts. If you remove your account, your free apps still remain on the device and can be easily linked (and updated) by adding a new Play Store account. Tried it only with free apps first since my Paid apps account literally has 100s of dollars worth of apps in it.

So this is interesting. Removed account, yet ALL apps remain on device (free and paid) AND are linked to the Play Store i.e will continue to get updates.

That was unexpected

Correction: They remain on device and show as installed on Play Store but aren't necessarily linked to it (updates not sure)
