Will root be available? (Sprint)

Just upgraded to the Moto X from an old Galaxy S2. Love it so far, but would like to root and use the wifi hotspot.
It looks like getting the root access is not happening now, or did I miss it somehow? Any idea if it may be coming?
I may have to trade it for a HTC One that is easily rootable

You can root by unlocking the booloader, flashing a customer recovery and flashing SuperSU.

The Sprint version has an unlockable bootloader.

Got it, thanks for the direction. I managed to root and flash my S2, but I'm still a newb. Thanks again!
