With Nougat fast approaching, will the LG G3 ever get an Android 6 update? Is this phone already upgrade abandoned?

You can easily update to 6.0 yourself using LGUP program. I just updated my Verizon 63 to Marshmellow. Program is very similar to ;LG flash tool, no root needed either.

I don't see Sprint upgrading such an old phone with an OTA update.

G3 is just as old as the S5 which got an OTA update to Marshmallow.

That may be true but I still don't think it'll happen. Who knows -- I could be wrong. Samsung > LG in terms of phones sold.

Definitely not disagreeing, Sprint will probably base their decision on how many G3's are still active on their network.
