Will stopping Kingo Root app brick my phone?

A

AC Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 that I am attempting to root. I am using the Kingo Root app. The phone says it is "Rooting", the PC says it is waiting for the device. However, it appears to be locked up. How long should I wait? This has been going on for a while. I'm scared if I close the window, I'll have a brick! Help!! Too scared....

I have read where Kingo can take up to an hour to set things up. Suggest you start the process before doing other things that take some time (like overnight).

Kingo itself is pretty fast - downloading the particular exploit that your phone needs from their server can take ... well, it's behind the Great Firewall of China, so who knows? But if it doesn't finish in 10 minutes, I'd assume it's not going to get the download and restart the phone. If the PC says it is waiting for the device for 5 minutes, the phone isn't connected to the PC for some reason (programatically connected), so I'd restart it.
