Do you think that the tbolt will get cm7, and if so, when do you think this might happen?

I have no idea, but given that it has already been rooted (pre-production model), and its extreme popularity, it's likely we'll see custom roms very soon, and I'd be willing to bet CM would be one of them.

yeah i know the pre-production was rooted successfully, which is awesome. hopefully it will be that simple.
and cm7 + tbolt would be huge right now, so i was figuring on it happening, but i'm relatively new to the android game, so i dunno how long these things usually take.
anyway, i have an incredible running cm7 now, and its awesome, and i'm not a sense fan especially, so while i'll probably get an incredible this week, bc ive had an upgrade available since august, i dont want to be running stock for very long, and would love to have cm7 on my tbolt asap.

The bigger question is: will it have 4G? If not how long will it take to get it? If so will they make a toggle?

It took seemingly forever for the EVO to get 4G on cyanogen.

I'm fairly certain that it will get some CM lovin. It may just take a bit longer then people are wanting to wait for it. Until then, have fun with your new phone, play with all sorts of new/different apps. Look at this as your period to experiment and see what's out there.

I'm interested in porting CM 7 to TBolt.

I've posted an inquiry on the CM forums but no reply yet.

I'd like to know if anyone is interested in working with me or has already started and would like assistance.

The thing about Cyanogen (and any custom ROM) is that it's a hobby project. The devs don't do this for a living. That's why you don't ask for ETA's, because they don't operate on a strict schedule.

I'd imagine there will be a Cyanogen port for the Bolt fairly quickly. It will probably take a little longer for 4G functionality to be included, though.

I hope it gets it quick. The 4g doesn't matter that much to me because I don't live in a 4g area right now. When I do go into 4g coverage, I'll just switch the Rom back to stock.

slayer ( the dev doing the incredible for cm7) is trying to get an thunderbolt to try to port it over.

I saw a thread at xda for it.

correct. slayer and workshed are taking donations now to get a tbolt. cm7 will be on this phone VERY shortly.

Yup. My reply was just straight to the point. I'm very appreciative for all the hard work devs put into their builds and can't thank them enough.

But yes, it will happen, when? who knows. LTE radios are new, so 4G will take some time (as it did on the Sprint Evo)

I wasnt asking a dev for the eta, tho, i was just asking you guys for an educated guess ;). anyway, cm7 is awesome, and i would love to have it on the tbolt, but a way to get 4g on there is a must.

thanks for all the replies! see you on the other side

Yes, im 100% sure cyanogen will be on this device eventually.
As said, 4G will take some time unless verizon open sources the drivers and such which is very unlikely.

Cyanogen is great, and on a great device. Should be fun to see.
