Will the Epic get Android 2.2

How many here are confident the Epic will get the 2.2 update? There is a lot of rumors circulating that Samsung is bad about updating the andriod devices and I am a bit concerned that the Epic may get passed up on the update?

I would love to have actual PROOF of this... I know that there's a lot of hearsay going around that Samsung has said this and hope it's true, but have they actually released any statements confirming the validity? Just want to quell the rumor mill

From the release:

"Android 2.2

Sprint plans to upgrade Samsung Epic 4G to Android 2.2 in the coming months. With the Android 2.2 upgrade, customers can expect improved EAS support, improved browser performance, including Flash 10x support, voice dialing over Bluetooth(R) and application storage on external memory. "

Samsung will have the update ready in September, but I don't think that means Sprint will be ready at that time.

How many of you are still obsessed about the stupid Behold 2 thing? Let me say this: Galaxy S=FLAGSHIP DEVICE WORLDWIDE, Behold 2:RANDOM PHONE, T-MOBILE ONLY! Samsung Moment got an update= Sprint. If Sprint says it's coming, you betcha it's coming. Maybe their date will be off like octones mentioned, but if they say it's coming, it's definitely coming.

September was quoted from Samsung's UK division. I still don't get why all of the news blogs picked that up like it meant something. And I still don't get why everyone thinks that means September here, too.

I agree, that update was supposed to be for the original Galaxy S, not the American ones.

Sprint from my experience always pushes out updates to phones quicker than any other carrier.

On my Pre it received updates before the Pre Plus on Verizon and ATT.

Also in regards to Android the Evo received 2.2 update way before the Droid X, Droid 2, Droid Incredible, etc.

I believe that whenever Samsung has the update ready (hopefully Sept.) Sprint wont waste time and will try to release it ASAP to the public.
