Will the Moto X 2014 recieve android 7.0 nougat?

I never recieved and further updates after 6.0 and I believe 6.0.1 is a security update!
Enjoyed my 2014 and battery is still going strong but definately going back to Nexus this autumn, when I bought this there were rumours it would update at the same time , or quicker than Nexus, but software wise I have been massively disappointed.
My Nexus 4 got 6.0 4 months before my X..

I think I will be going back to the nexus brand phone this fall also. can't wait to see what HTC does with the line .

The Verizon version of the Moto X 2014 did not receive 6.0, if I remember correctly. That's why I got rid of mine last year, VZW & Moto announced it would not be updated past Android 5.x
