Will the new lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 wipe my phone?

Since there is no easy way to backup my phone without root (extremely annoying btw) will the new update wipe my phones data in any way?

There are plenty of ways to back up your phone. Kies, google, a bunch of apps. But, no, updating to 5.0 will not wipe your phone

Unless you install via kies, it wouldn't wipe the phone at all ( the ota doesn't delete any apps or data)
