Obviously, this is all speculation, but I was just looking for opinions:
The Nexus 6 is the first phone that is compatible with all 4 major US carriers. I know that activating on Verizon requires an already active sim or additional steps to activate on Verizon, but it is definitely possible.
Since I am sure most OEM manufacturers would prefer to make one or two models versus different models for each US carrier, do you think Samsung, HTC, or LG, may also decide to make just one domestic version of any particular phone, as Google has done with the Nexus 6?
I can understand why the carriers may object, but why give Google a pass for a relatively small device, in terms of pure devices sold?
Also, it looks like the Iphone 6/6+ is the exact same model between AT&T, Tmobile, and Verizon . Since the Tmobile Iphone 6 is unlocked out of the box, it was able to run perfectly fine by just inserting an active Verizon sim.
Not only is the T-Mobile iPhone 6 Plus unlocked, but it works on Verizon! - MacRumors Forums
I don't know why Apple designed a separate model for Sprint, when Google's Nexus 6 can work with all carriers, but it'll be interesting if the next generation Iphone will also support all 4 carriers.
The kink is AT&T, since both the Iphone 6 and Nexus 6 are factory locked to AT&T, but, provided you can get AT&T to unlock the device, you could easily take it over to Verizon and be fully compatible.
