Will the S7 be discounted further following the Note 7 fiasco?

I want to upgrade to an S7 pretty badly, but I want to find the best possible deal since this is the first time I'll be upgrading before my device payment plan is up. I'm mulling getting an unlocked S7 from Samsung directly for $569 (I have $100 credit from them for a previous purchase) and taking advantage of their current promo where they'll throw in either a Gear VR or 256GB SD card. I'm also thinking of getting a refurb Verizon S7 from Best Buy for $479, since they have a warranty unlike refurbs from Amazon or eBay.

My question is, with the Note 7 recall and Samsung's reputation taking a hit, do you think they'll discount any of their devices? Will I find a better deal than what I listed above?

And while we're here, which deal would you go with?

I don't see why the Note 7 would impact any other current products.
I prefer new. My record with refurbs is about 50/50 good vs bad.

No...why would it?

It's a quality product, maybe the best out there, there's no reason.

If anything they would only discount or give freebies with the Note 7. The S7 has already been out there and is basically tried and true. Once the S8 comes then I would expect some deep discounts.
