Will the Samsung gear s2 watch share talk with the new galaxy note 8?

I want a watch that I can connect with Verizon so if I forget my phone at home the calls will forward to my watch. The S3 is too big and too masculine looking. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

I am not sure how that would work because my Gear 3 it is my understand connects to the phone via bluetooth. When out of range of the Bluetooth connection how would the call connect to the watch?

You will need to purchase the 3G version of the Gear S2. This has the ability to make and answer calls without the phone nearby.

There is a call forwarding option in the Gear app that will forward calls to your Gear s2 but I do believe you need a 3G s2
