My 96 year old dad LOVES his Stylo 5, and claims to be too old to learn anything new ever again. His house gets awful signal (Memphis, TN) and often calls do not go through. I put in wifi so now his internet speed is OK, but the Stylo 5 - LG L722DL (which seemingly is capable of wifi calling) does not even have on the menu the "enable wifi calling' toggle. Tracfone is unable to tell me what phones WOULD have wifi calling - that i should buy a new phone and then I'll be able to determine that. He uses very little phone/text so the structure of tracfone seems ideal, no monthly payment. 1. Is it possible tracfone could change sim card to enable this feature? 2. If I unlock phone, will i be able to enable wifi calling w/different provider? 3. What options could provide wifi call with option to purchase additional minutes/data as needed? Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Wi-fi calling is tricky, because it can depend on the specific variant of a phone, as well as which specific carrier you're trying to use it with. It might be best to look into getting him a Pixel phone, which should definitely be able to use wi-fi calling on any network. You can get used or refurbished Pixels for pretty cheap (especially the "a" series).
