Keep in mind t-mobile makes additions and sometimes even removals. I was going to move to t-mobile for the free international data, but found out a few months before I went on vacation that tmobile removed the country that I was going to.That's too bad....My girlfriend and I went to Europe last month. She had her T-Mobile phone with her and we were able to use Google Maps Navigation and drove across 5 countries in a rental car. I was also able to use her phone to check my emails and look up hotel, restaurant, and tourist info for free. Yes, 2G is slow, but it was fast enough to get the job done. T-Mobile didn't charge her a penny for data charge.
T-Mobile is playing catch-up, they have to do crazy things like that. Verizon has no motivation to give anything away, they're already in first place
Fine by me -- I don't mind benefiting from their catching up.
As for the topic at hand -- I don't see Verizon doing this.
Verizon does whatever is best for verizon. TMobile has to catch up, so they are willing to give more incentives.but I thought Verizon was following T-Mobile into the land of no-contract pricing?

When I go to Europe I just get a local SIM card and get 4G data for my Verizon phone. Plus call and texting. I think the last time I paid $45. I was there for 2.5 weeks and it worked great. I would have a hard time using 2G data for work.will VZW ever offer unlimited 2G data for roaming in foreign countries? (like what T-Mobile has)
This.

I am fine with not using my own number in Europe. I send the number to those who need the number. I don't want everyone calling me in Europe, just those I need to work with while traveling. This works great for me, I have been doing this for many years, long before the need for data.Unless you use voip calling, you can't use your own number to make out send calls and texts with that plan
