Will we be able to use SD cards as internal storage?

SD cards as internal storage? I ask because I know that not all OEMs support adoptable storage even if they are using 6.0 or later.

Yep. When you insert a microSD card you are given a choice between portable and adopted. I believe this is something mandatory at the OS level with Nougat, this should work with any kind of storage. You can also turn this on using the adb shell on (6.0 or later) & you can actually delegate how much of the SD card you want to treat as internal (even if the OEM does not support it).

I'm curious why you'd want to do this. If the phone only had minimal interval storage, I could understand that. There's just a number of down sides with adoptable storage, and I don't see many people actually utilizing it.

SD cards as internal storage are not a replacement for devices with larger internal storage. Apps will still load to internal storage, not the SD card,so it's pretty pointless. Coupled with the fact that SD cards are slow, will fail quicker and are unrecoverable makes it a "no-no"

yeah, I use my SD card for photos/videos (which are backed up to the cloud anyway) and music. Everything else goes to the phone.

So, in this day of modern boated software, I don't even want to settle for 32GB of phone storage. 64 is very nice.

I like the Pixel, but if I don't have an SD card, then its 128GB limit stops me from considering it. Hey, isn't Apple offering a 256GB option now? So why doesn't Google?

Anyway, LG going with 64GB as standard, plus a card slot, makes it my preferred choice. Removable battery is the icing on the cake. Could the screen be better? Maybe. But that's offset by the wonderful FPS on the back and the second screen, which I've come to like very much. (Let that be a lesson: never trust reviewers who spend only a day or even just a week with a phone, because they never come to appreciate what the phone is or has--they're always fixated on what it doesn't have.)

I have the V20 now and can't find how to use adoptable storage. Any clue if it is available or not?
