Will we get cardboard support on the Honor 5X?

I notice that the Honor 5X doesn't appear to support cardboard... the app doesn't recognize the phone as a supported device and some of the apps do not appear to work properly. It looks like the device has all the necessary sensors to support VR, but it might just be a matter of having the APIs support it.... I am not sure if that is something Google has to do your Honor (in a software update).

Are there any plans to support Cardboard? On a 5.5" screen, 1080P wouldn't be that bad an experience, it's a shame I can't use it.

Let's hope so. It shouldn't be a big undertaking to add support

I did some reading and it might be a hardware issue... I thought the accelerometer handled things, but I see some stuff that indicates that there is a second gyroscopic sensor as well (as well as a few others related to motion and orientation). I loaded up a sensor test app from Play and there are quite a few more sensors in my 6P than in the 5X... including a gyroscope.
