With the article that came out saying that Samsung is not making the 32GB version anymore....will that change your mind? On the other hand it also said that they might be waiting for it to launch on Sprint. I for one am still going to be picking this up regardless of 16 or 32, besides who needs an SD card with that much space? Unless I guess you need to carry like 15 movies with you. thoughts?

Really? Well, I better start saving then. I might pass my EVO down to the wife who just has a dumb phone right now...although I'm not really sure I want to spend the extra money to get her the data plan and everything. I don't think she'd really use it.

I don't suppose it's possible to let her use the EVO while just keeping her simple voice plan without paying for a data plan,

Nope, I activated my old Hero on my sons line and it automatically activates the extra data into your bill. Even though when I had the Hero they weren't charging the extra data for it. Back then Heros weren't considered data hogs! LOL

I am not a big fan of Samsung phones, my wife had one (intercept) and it didn't work half the time so I had to get her a Evo like mine and she has loved it. Also I have two friends that have samsung phones and they hate them. Samsung is slow about updating and one of my friends phone has so much crap on it you can't find anything on the phone.

I may have to wait on HTC myself, but anyway will have to see. My upgrade date is 6/1/12

That should not be an issue with the Nexus phones, as the updates should come from Google directly, rather than from the manufacturer.

Although some of the current Nexus phones in the other networks have not gotten the latest update, due to bugs...

Like you, I don't trust Samsung, and have a sneaking suspicion that some of those bugs might be because of Samsung's hardware.

I think only the gsm version of the Nexus is updated by Google. The carrier updates their version because they have to make sure it will work on the network.

I think the new Evo 2/E4GLTE/"EAGLE" will become the top phone on Sprint making the GN somewhat of an outdated product. How long has the GN been out now, like 6 months? Sprint was waaaay to slow getting this phone to market and it will already be a step-down from the flagship on release day. The camera is inferior, the screen res is inferior, not sure about the expandable memory option. Unless you have to have a Nexus phone, then this one will be DOA for me and I'm sure a lot of people. They touched on this at the end of the last AC podcast and I have to agree.

I will never (99% sure) never use a samsung phone again, or not for a very long time at least. The horrors I suffered with the moment (6 replacements in 6 months) have made me shy far away from samsung.

I know this is a nexus device, but I'd wait for the new evo a hundred times over before getting the gnex.

My upgrade is may...and I'm getting the nexus! I've had my evo a while now and getting the nexus will be the smart idea for me...I'm gonna want Android 5.0 when it comes put and I don't want to wait for the carrier to decide when I can have it if Google already has it ready

well, you can pre-order the Nexus now. Honestly I am somewhat torn between the Nexus and the new EVO 4G LTE and the upcoming Galaxy S3 (although who knows when that will be out).

Been trying to compare. I like the look of the Nexus over the new EVO (and that it comes with Vanilla Android). My $150 upgrade credit + the $50 credit for Google Wallet would make the phone essentially "free" for me.

Also, I like the non-capacitive buttons of ICS (personal choice), and the removable battery.

Does the Nexus work on the Wimax network? I have that coverage here, but my area isn't even on the schedule for the LTE rollout.

I'll have to look at the camera as well, I guess (my phone is my primary point-and-shoot).

Maybe I should just wait and see the May announcements. If I wait until June, my contract will be up and maybe I'll take another look at Verizon. They do have LTE coverage in my area now....been watching my data usage the last few months and I don't think I'd break their caps (although I would be cutting it close here and there).

Nope, the Sprint GNex will not work with their Wimax. It will be 3G only until your area gets 4G LTE. If you want a new phone slightly better than the EVO that will get ICS (at some point) and has 3G with Wimax, you would probably want to get the Sammy Galaxy SII Epic Touch or the EVO Design 4G. If you don't mind staying on 3G until LTE gets widespread, then get the GNex now or wait a couple weeks for the EVO LTE.

I'm torn over the GNex since it may (may - like the Nexus S waited quite a bit for ICS) get an update to Jelly Bean before other Sprint phones, or get the EVO LTE. The EVO LTE has microSD for storage expansion and a better camera and screen, but the GNex might get Jelly Bean sooner (but really, probably a few weeks when it actually happens) than the EVO LTE and the GNex has a removable battery. Not sure if the battery is a big deal anymore since I can't remember the last time I pulled my EVO battery. From playing with the Verizon GNex, I think the EVO LTE Sense will be more user friendly in some respects. It just looks a little more intuitive in some screens and the HTC keyboard is better with the hold press alternate keys IMO. I love it on the EVO.

I'm leery to go with the GNex since Sammy signal reception is never as good as HTC in my experience. But, battery life on recent Sammy's is much better than HTC. Tradeoffs.

No Wimax and iffy roll out date for LTE makes this a nonstarter for me. Can't justify getting a new phone that will be slower than my og EVO. Tell me I'm wrong because I am out of contract and want to upgrade to the nexus.
