Horrible laptop but that's another story. It recognized the LG G3 sort of, and the same with the Note 7. Basically it would show a device usually unnamed, but it was there and I could move files to and from it. I had to turn off the laptop to disconnect the phone but still. It simpy doesn't show the Pixel at all, Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

When you connect via USB and swipe down the notification panel, is there an option to change the USB connection to MTP?

Also, have you tried different cables? Or different USB ports on the laptop?

Also try swiping down and - taping the banner - and you should get several options - check Transfer Files.

Yeah I swiped down and checked transfer files. Then, I tried another category, Media I think, Thge cable is the one it came with, and that port is the one that I used with every other phone because it's faster. But I'll give that--anything really!--a shot. Thanks for replying.

Just in case if the above solution doesn't help, you may try to download the USB driver for Pixel phone, here's the instruction:- http://www.technobuzz.net/download-google-pixel-xl-usb-drivers-adb-fastboot/

Wish you luck 😎
