[WIP] Nexus Rom porting method

Hey OG's of androidcentral, i figured instead of XDA doing everythang we can whip something up. I have this booted up on my Evo, with a Couple bugs of course.

Yeah, its a nexus rom and it was a little tricky to get running, but it cant be that much different from Porting incredible to Evo roms, so i did the same procedure as if it was an incredible rom i was porting and i changed the stuff and booted up, much to my suprise it booted. BUT touch screen no workie.

So i tinkered around a little and a also flashed netarchys universal, sure enough she boots right up and the touch works fine.

The problems; NO sprint or carrier signal, i dont know what to switcha round from nexus's GSM to evo's CDMA, and ... yeah. Also bluetooh no workie (probly an easy fix)

WiFi and SD mount DO work. Edit, WiFi quit on me.. hangs at obtaining IP address.

Suprisingly, HDMI, 4G, and neither of the cameras work.

BUT, it seems stable, ive had no bootloops.

So. I figured us OG's on Androidcentral could catch some glory from the XDA boys for once and get this down, as of now ive searched high and low and there isnt a bonefied method to port em.


Community help/work/ideas are why i posted this, so if youd like to help out, PLEASE do. I'm no superman at this stuff haha.

The Radio for the phone is the Radio for the phone. Doesn't matter which ROM you flash the radios are closed proprietary firmware so the same radios used to a sense ROM are the same radios used on a CM ROM are the same radios used for .... oh you get the point lol

You may need to set the access point name (APN) and also may want to ensure it's not disabled. You might have luck having someone pull an original unedited APN from an EVO and try using that.

I'm pretty sure I ran a N1 port of Froyo on the Evo way back in June, you can try to scour XDA to grab it and rip what you need out of it.

They are coming up with this "FLASH-PATCH" Thing that will flash all the Evo system Files needed to port a Rom after you Flash an INC Rom or even maybe a Nexus Rom?

It doesn't work with nexus roms. I tried it and no touch screen, I had to flash netarchy universal over it.

But now I just have a cyanogen kernel cooked in.

Ahhh okay. I have no clue how or what to do to achieve that but its a start I guess.

I have the modules in there already, and the stock HTC kernel doesnt boot

Only fix so far is to flash the netarchy universal, which i may just cook into the rom. It runs nicer than the cyanogen kernel or any others ive tried.

It'll all be for naught if i cant get these damn radios flipped on lol
