From the looks of this thread - http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...k-z4root-zerg-rush-full-frontal-labotomy.html and other threads.., our community has been wanting to create a "Hippo" based ROM, with maybe ICS. I can't do ROMs or Kernels, but I can create flash-able zips, themes, and boot animations. I can do this with help from the community.

I am going to create a Theme and Boot Animation featuring Hippo based Humor.Might call the theme "HMH for the Optimus S" It is called "HipDroid Theme and Animation" ... I simply don't know yet.
What I need YOU guys to do is tell me what you want the theme to feature.. What you want the animation to look like. The feature or look or style or IDEA that is liked the most here on the thread will be chosen more than likely. I want it to be about what we want, not what I want.
EDIT: I have created the design, I am working on it.. Thank You so much for your designs/ideas and hopefully we can keep this going and this can help us make our mark in the Android community...

Update on 6/4/12: Releases coming soon. I am planning how I want the animation and theme to look like. I am asking permission to use the picture on 6/4/12 to be used in the Animation...

Update on 6/7/2012: We finally have the FINAL design for the Animation.. You may see it down in the RED section below...I have also posted a copy of the ORIGINAL HAND-WRITTEN design for the Animation! Cool huh? The copy is over 10 MB and is a HUGE picture...
NOTE: I worked VERY VERY hard on the design.. The design took over a week to put together, so please DO NOT MIRROR MY IMAGE. Also, please do not recreate or modify my design for reuse (DO NOT use this as YOUR base)...
Work has been started on the Boot Animation and will be uploaded as soon as I get it done.
I did not post this for it to be viewed in a negative or rude way....

Update 6/9/12 - Got the first part of the first picture! WOO HOO! I am still working in the floaty, the Hippo, the sun, the sand, and other things.. but I used the Ripple effect on GIMP to create the ripple, the Paintbrush tool to cover the lower-half of Android's body, and also used the paintbrush to cover the white at the bottom of the image that the Ripple effect caused..
This is exactly how I did it (I am keeping a document on how I did it)

Theme/Animation Ideas:
I have the Animation DESIGN FINALLY. Please scroll down to the RED section to view the design. I also have a copy of the ORIGINAL hand-written copy of the design for the Animation! Why don't you have a look, eh?
Animation:
It will take some work, but the Animation will feature Hippos eating dots of sorts (candy) and then maybe it fading away to loading or maybe the Hippo taking a bite out of loading (I did a good job of biting or bites so says the community when I did the ICS Boot Animation; I will post the link in the "Links/References" section).. So it shouldn't be too hard to visualize. I think that the animation should be something cool, unique, stylish (Oh.. It is! )... you know.. something that will make our mark or branding of sorts to the REST of the Android/AndroidCentral community. This Animation will look like I spend 5425213574354 hours on it and will not look like it took me 5 minutes.
Take a look at THE PREVIOUS IDEAS - DEAD and GONE IDEAS BEFORE you look at ANYTHING ELSE.. I want you to know what ideas are NOT going to be used.. When I post updates for ideas and list the ideas, when they are dead and have decided to not be used, they still might be listed under the updates, but when they are under Dead Ideas, they are DEAD and will not be used..
PREVIOUS IDEAS (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) - Dead and Gone Ideas - Animation and Theme:
NOTE: Keep in mind that these ideas have had equal thought, but have been declined in order to create the best Animation possible. I don't mean this section to be an insult or other remarks.. In fact, the first dead idea was my idea...
Animation -Might even feature a loading (PROGRESS BAR, GUYS.. NOT THE TEXT, BUT AN ACTUAL LOADING BAR) bar at the bottom or in the Middle... Something cool. DEAD IDEA.. GONE.. WOO...
Animation -I am lost - What do we want the Animation to say? What do we want to make it shout at us? Hippo ROM? How 'bout this one -- "Your Optimus S attracts Hippos." .... What do WE want? Dead...RIP. IDEA #2. 6/3/12
Animation -Hippos might dance in Hula skirts and do a funky dance... Good Vision, but never was put into effect.. Dead 6/4/12
Animation -Using the Windows symbol to crush using the Hippos, or just displaying the Windows logo at all.. Dead again... 6/4/12
Animation -Using the Apple symbol to crush using the Hippos, or just displaying the Apple/iPhone/iPod logo at all.. No OS wars... Dead 6/4/12
Animation -Hippo being Pink... Hippo being Pink wouldn't stand out against other boot animations.. so we are not going with Pink.. In fact.. some of the Pink will be removed from the Theme, also.... Dead 6/4/12.
Theme -Most of the Theme made in UOT Kitchen being Pink... Again, as a stand-out to other Animation and Themes, some of the Pink will be removed.. Make that most of the Pink.. Colors will be changed when I get around to it.. Dead 6/4/12..
Animation -Using "Hippo Jump"'s Icon (the cute adorable icon found in this thread... I never got a reply back, so we can't use the icon... No reply, no permission... DEAD. 6/5/12..
Animation -"Tire Tube" around android... I can't figure out how to do it with GIMP (there are NO curvy line tools that I can find.. Only straight line; I don't want to mess with it and screw it up my making it look worse, so I bailed on the idea)... DEAD 6/10/12
Animation -Ice Cream Sandwiches floating through the water.. I tried it and it doesn't look right/good. So, I bailed on the idea.
Animation -Hippo's back being Red.. I liked the RED text better... Dead 6/10/2012

Animation Ideas:
We have had posters, especially epi. (the bike picture as his avatar)... We have kind of decided to recreate some cute hippo pictures in Photo-Shop... I still am in love with the idea of the hippos (one to eating the dots of "loading")... I will make a decision on 6/4/12 of what we are going to do.. I am rooting (Ha Ha! See what I did there) for the candy idea, but I like the hippo picture idea, too.. :beer::beer: (I love Tapatalk)... Dead Idea.. remember?
As far as the wording, I think we have kinda all agreed on "Hippo-Optimus".. I am gonna probably use "Hippo-Optimus S" since there were a lot of optimuses, but only one Hippo-Optimus S - I STILL like this IDEA and it WILL be used in some part of the Animation.. in the beginning most likely.. I just don't know where yet..
DECIDED BOOT ANIMATION DESIGN:
NOTE: Me and my mother came up with this design over lunch. We have decided that it will be a SUMMER/HIPPO themed animation. It will feature the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich (Ice Cream Sandwiches floating in water)... Will also feature the Hippos I promised in an awesome/cartoony kind of way..
The design that I have chosen to use is the following:
There will be a certain part of the screen that we are calling the water. It will be at the bottom,but I DO NOT know the EXACT size the water part will be... I have figured it out; see the "News" section for the updated pictures as to what the boot animation will look like...
The water [part]'s background will be blue (more than likely powdered baby blue; don't worry.. it'll look good.. trust me) and will have ripples or small waves in the water.. Will they be stationary? No, they won't be.
The Android figure will be floating in a Tire Tube (for those who do not know what this is.. It is a floaty that you can find just about anywhere... looks like a Tire.. hence Tire) and the lower half of the Figure's body you will not be able to see.. Android will bob up and down and move through the water at about four or five frames per second..
Small Ice Cream Sandwiches will be floating in the water to resemble the latest version of Android.. Doesn't look good.. I tested it..
Android Figure Description:
Android Figure will be a DARKER shade of green than usual to resemble a TAN..
He will not look bad.. that's a PROMISE.
In the Upper-Left Hand Corner:
Will be the sun... it will be.. well.. Yellow...
Sand (Land) Part - Towards the Middle and to the right (do not know EXACT placement/position as of now):
Will be a hippo resting.. he might be in a chair or just the sand or just there.. I will play with GIMP (lost my Windows partition and Installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) and see what looks best.
Hippo's Description:
The Hippo will be grayEXCEPT for the back, which will be RED and on his back will be "Lifeguard Hippo" written in BLACK RED text on top of the RED.. If it doesn't look good, I'll change it.. Don't fret.. His NOSE will be white to resemble sunscreen..
Theme Design:
Here is a toughy... the theme. Sure. I am going to create it in UOT Kitchen. There is another thing I don't know how to do.. messing with PNG files... Well... I take that back 2 turns to an extent.. I CAN create Boot Animations......
What OS do we wanna target? What ROM or ROMs do we wanna target? Do we want to to be flash-able? Do we want it to be usable via Theme Chooser?
I figured it should be... well, themed. With lots of gray and green and blue (representing Hippos, Grass/Trees, and Water.. respectively)... What would we like to see in this theme? Maybe a Circle Battery Mod? I am really sort of lost on the Theme...
Help Me:
WHAT IS MY BOTTOM LINE? -- This is a WE not I thing. I am not creating this for me, but for US. What do you think it should look like? Animation Idea Decided.. I need ideas. I need a vision. I am gonna do this.
I'll get started on planning the Boot Animation out.. In the meantime, start posting HERE on what you would like to see... It could be any idea. "No Idea is stupid or crazy; some ideas just have more thought than others"
