Wired android to overhead projector

Hi Guys, I have an android tablet CP20 Android 11 that I have connected to an old overhead projector from the C charging point via VGA cable but can not mirror. I have followed the instructions re debugging. Is there any app that I need to make the connection active. I recently connected my iphone to the same projector via charging port/VGA and the phone automatically installed 'firmware' what ever that may be and it worked. Does and android need further instillation of 'firmware'? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! Most budget devices won't support video output via USB-C (heck, even Pixels didn't support that until the Pixel 8). You might be able to try connecting a Chromecast to the projector, but that would probably require an HDMI to VGA adapter, and I'm not sure how well that would work.

Thanks for that, it was a super cheap tablet that I only use to show song charts via Songbook pro.
Sigh, Looks like I might need to lash out and buy a better one.
