My question is, how do wired IEMs compare to TWS in terms of sound quality? I mean, will my Kiwi Cadenza's beat out the Divialet Gemini 2's strictly in terms of audio quality?

If they are wired, are they automatically streaming at the best quality, versus TWS that are governed by the codec they use?

If you want Lossless CD Quality or above on the go wires are essential.

The best bitrate bluetooth can manage is 900Kbps, that still short of the 1411Kbps for CD Quality.

Apple Music hasn't democratised Lossless music. Deezer was doing it for longer.

From the 11th of April, Tidal will be the same price as Apple Music and Amazon Music. All will offer High Res Lossless for 10.99.

it's only Spotify and YouTube Music that still only offer Lossy.

In principle yes because bluetooth is Lossy.

But it obviously depends on the product.

Exactly. I'm out here buying TWS like the Beoplay EX, B&W Pi7 s2 and Denon PerL Pro, but I'm wondering how much I need to spend to get the same quality through an IEM. Can my Moon Drop Chu and Chu 2 compete? How little can I spend to get the same quality sound that I get from a $350 set of Bluetooth earbuds?
