Wireless Charging 5W with the Pixel 3

So I have a bunch of 3rd party 5W wireless charging pads left over from when I had Samsung and they don't work with the Pixel 3. You put the phone on the pad and it recognizes the wireless charging but then disconnects. The battery bolt symbol keeps going on and off while it sits on the pad. Here is something else. I just purchased a new 2018 Chevy Equinox with the wireless charging and it does the same thing. I put my wife's Pixel 3 and it does the same thing. I took the car to the dealership and put the salesman's Galaxy phone on the pad with no problems. So it has to be with the Pixel phone. Do they only use wireless charging using 10W. I thought Google fixed this with an recent update?

Anyone else have this issue as well?

Google locked out 3rd party chargers. Only approved pads will work.

Edit: I guess others should work, but not charge quickly. Are you on November or December update?

Ok...so I figured out that the charger that I have was not using a plug that was compatible. Swapped it out and not the charger is working but says "Charging Slowly." I can live with that.

But it seems like with car, it won't work. Flipped the phone around and everything. Doesn't work. Anyone else have a GM car with wireless charging?

the pixel have it's own fast charging method different from QI wireless charging like Samsung , it will work on other wireless chargers but slowly . only pixel wireless charging will charge fast.

As long as your wireless pad is Qi standard, it will work. I have two real old charging pads from Windows Phone days and both work fine with both iPhone X and Pixel 3. However, I found the Pixel 3 is very picky on line up the charging coils. You need to perfectly center the charging pad coil to the center of the phone (I have the smaller pixel 3) to trigger the charging on one of my pads (it has a small coil). The other pad that has a larger coil is more forgiven.
