Wireless Charging Accessory?

I saw pictures of the 360 camera attaching to the pins on the Essential Phone and it got me wondering whether Essential (or someone else) might be able to make a little battery stick accessory. Basically, it could be something the size of a flash drive. When you need a bit of juice, stick it on the phone, let it charge up, and then remove it when done. Kind of like how Moto does their battery mod, but this would be more for charging only rather than something you would keep on the phone at other times.

If this is possible, I wonder what other accessories can be developed around those pins.

I have tons of wireless charging stations I am hoping since it is ceramic it will work with my TYTL chargers. I am looks ng forward to what accessories work with that bus, I bet they do come out with a battery pack.

If you look on their website, under the 360 camera, they talk about a wireless dock which looks like it would charge wirelessly.

From something I saw earlier, I think the pins are where it charges. so there might be pins on that charging plate you see on the website.

That is a fail in my opinion if this will not work with current tech, like the wireless charging stations in new cars today

Wireless charging hasn't been standardized and not everyone drives a new car. First World problems, I guess.

lol, yes. When driving a long distance phone is my GPS and plugged in via a cable. So called wireless charging would be useless for that.

I will have my phone soon, I hope. And I will report back here once I play with it.

My question will be which earbuds do I get? I really hate earbuds that are not wired together. Too easy to lose one.

My Tahoe has wireless charging and Android Auto. I just put my phone down on the console and I am on my way.

I have to plug my phone into my car for Android Auto to pop up on my dash which makes wireless charging useless. Plus, Wireless charging is useless in situations where it's not laying down for long periods of time.

I mainly use wireless charging to protect the charging port.

Plus, what's to say they don't make a attachment that will allow it to wireless charge on current systems.

Qi may be popular but it's not standard across all devices. If Apple goes with wireless charging, you can almost guarantee they'll use their own proprietary system. Anyone with permanent wireless charging in their cars then won't be Apple compatible. The whole system will be reset to zero at that point.

At least with Essential's pin design they can use a magnetic solution that's truly universal. Pins might have seemed odd at first but the concept is really growing on me.
