Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

re: Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

It's not supposed to, unless something with the touchscreen is damaged. Are you experiencing that?

re: Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

Yes. I've dropped a drop of sirup on my phone. It's not waterproof, but I've dried it.

What did you clean it off with? Use some screen cleaner and make sure all of the residue is completely gone.

The only thing is the sticky button. I've orderd Isopropyl 99.7%. And I'm now waiting it to arrive.

And after the accident I've two times turned off and on again. I know it was a mistake...

Do you have a screen protector on? If so, try taking it off and then cleaning the actual screen glass.

re: Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

It's completely clean inside. The sirup didn't go inside.

re: Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

Even so, a screen protector problem can still cause ghost touches.

re: Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

It only happens when the phone is on the mousepad and I've experienced the same thing on my old Galaxy Note 9.

Here's a pretty good post about ghost touches in general, but it doesn't talk specifically about wireless chargers: https://c.mi.com/thread-2001748-1-1.html

I still think it's worth testing without the screen protector. If you have a case on, then try removing that as well.

re: Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

I now realised that I forgot to say that the mouse pad isn't for charging phones but it's for charging the wireless mouse. And the phone doesn't have wireless charging.

re: Wireless charging mouse pad and "ghost touches?"

That wouldn't matter -- the pad would still be using some kind of magnetic induction to charge the wireless mouse, and that magnetic field is what might set up the electrical disturbance that causes the ghost touch. The phone itself doesn't have to have a wireless charging coil.
