Wireless Charging/powersharing and pop sockets

Hey all,

I've never used wireless charging, but I am interested in buying a pad and using the powershare feature to charge my galaxy buds when i get them (if i ever get them). I have a pop socket on the back of my phone and really can't do without it (it improved my grip so much and I use it to mount in my car).

I tried last night while setting up the s10 to powershare with my s9+, but it didn't work and I'm wondering if it's because the phone isn't directly up against each other because the pop socket is in between.

How close do the phones/devices need to be in order to charge wirelessly on a pad or power share? Anyone with a pop socket have experience with this?

This has been discussed in a few posts and it seems pop sockets are just not gonna cut it (too thick or too much interference). Most likely it's the thickness, so it's because the pop socket is in the way. The distance really varies with charger and device combo, but there's not a lot of leeway, so any thick case also struggles to allow charge to pass through.

I've been wanting to try a pop socket never had one before. I don't have my phone yet but they make new swappable pop sockets I bought one to try. Supposedly the top comes off so you can wireless charge and your able to swap tops. Not sure how power share works with it but it's supposed to let you wireless charge with the case on after taking off the top of the pop socket. It said you push down and turn like a prescription bottle to take to off. I hope it works cause I don't want to have to take case off to wireless charge.

As a general rule, if you have something on the back of your phone that prevents it from sitting flat on the charger it won't work. If it's metal, such as magnetic holder, wireless charging won't work. Most cases will work, but have read wireless charging from the back of the S10, power share, is more picky. It works with me using my uag plasma case.

I wanted to use those magnetic holders. I had to choose between the holder or wireless charging, I chose wireless charging. You can take the case off or take the new designed pop up off everytime you want to wireless charge, but in my opinion that defeats the purpose of wireless charging.
