Wireless charging quit working?

I've been using wireless charging for a few years now with no problems. In the last week or so, it seems to have quit working. Sometimes when I put the tablet on the charger the charge light comes on for a short while and then turns off long before it's charged. Other times I can't get the charge lite to turn on at all. We have three Qi charging pads in the house and the problem happens with all 3, so I have to assume it's the tablet. I tried wired charging and it still works fine but I love wireless charging so I'd love to get it working again.

Has anyone had wireless charging quit working on your N7 (2013)? Were you able to resolve it? Don't know if the charging hardware has gone bad or if some update broke it recently.

Thanks.

did your device fall off? make sure the backplate has correctly snapped in place if it did.

I personally dread the day wireless charging does on mine, since wired charging died a long time ago...

No, I never did figure out how to get it working again.

I just used it as an excuse to buy an iPad and retire the Nexus 7 from being my primary tablet.

If you pop off the cover you will likely see the battery has swollen and that pushes the rear cover charging pad away from the connectors on the motherboard. I made a small slit in my battery's jacket, expelled the trapped gas (do this outside!) and resealed the slit. My wireless charging works again.

Or you can replace the battery.

I had this issue. Suddenly refused to charge wirelessly, a disaster since the usb connector failed years ago.

However, I found, by chance that a screen dimming app I had been using seemed to be stopping the charging from working. I removed the app and now make sure I am on a home screen at full brightness before laying the device on the charger and now it works again.

I have no rational explanation as towhat the connection is but that's what worked for me.

Hi, little late here but the screen brightening technique worked for me.

- I changed my batter recently
- formatted it to LineageOS
- qui wireless stopped working
- figure physical break or unplugging, or just breakdown of hardware

I was about to open it up again and verify the qi element was securely connected but decided to google an voila, turning up the volume at maximum made it work again. Lineage OS17 has its own screen brightening/dimming methods, I have no apps I know of that affect it outside of this. But it worked.

So thank you for posting this, never would have guessed. Hope this helps someone else. This tablet is getting slow but it's still a great e-reader and the screen still has a higher density PPI than most of its modern equvalents
