Looks like rubber back nixes wireless charging. Phil says no wireless charging in his Hands-on thread. I wonder if swapping to a non-rubber back could allow wireless charging bc the hands-on pics show the wireless charging pins on the back.

LG said from the beginning that although the phone is Qi Wireless compatible, it wouldn't do so out of the box. Current backs have no Qi Charging coils, so no wireless charging...yet. They did announce they are releasing one soon for 'foreign markets'. The Wireless Power Consortium filings show it as 'CPR-120'.

Yeah, the G4 isn't compatible out of the box either. It's only an $8 amazon qi sticker away though, which works fine on my G4. Just need a conductive plastic back I guess.

Yup, same 'problem'. The phone supports it, but the charging backs (at least the official ones) take ages to come out.

It's coming, wireless charging. However, it'll be after the phone is released in the US. That means you'll need to shell out more $$$ if you want wireless charging. Whether it is fast/quick/turbo wireless or not is yet to be determine.

I would actually have liked the option of buying it seperately. In Norway it came with the Qi back on, and a wireless charger, and the price went up accordingly. I like the idea of having a cheaper "base phone" that you can add to if you need/want, be it more storage, larger battery or wireless charging. I never got into the whole wireless charging thing, so I ended up paying around 100 dollars more for features I never use.

I hear you. I've just been addicted to wireless charging since the old palm PRE days.
