Getting ready to purchase new router for home. Can any tell me if we infact got wireless N capabilities with the upgrade to froyo on droid incredible?

Yes wireless N. But it's of the 2.4Ghz flavor. So make sure the router you are getting is 2.4Ghz and not 5Ghz.

SkyRaider Vanilla has has Wireless N since it came out. Every Froyo has it for the Inc now.

Same here, I have the Linksys E3000 running N and the phone links to it perfect....wicked fast too !! Awesome!!

Is their a way to find out if I have wireless N or not?

If you are running 2.2 you should have it. I went in and set my router to only run on "N" and was able to connect to it. Some routers will even tell you what band you are on.

Another tip: Look for a router with dual-band support which outputs both N for your phone or newer devices and A/B/G for your older devices.

Yeah or else the network will default to the slowest speed device on it!

Using a Netgear N600 dual band wireless router. Was running the 2.4 band at 300mbps and the speed would be good for a while and then suddenly drop till I reset the modem. Next I set the 2.4 band to 145mbps and the through speed remains constantly high. Using WIFI Analyzer and the signal is always in the green.

tzoller, do have any other 2.4 band devices in the house that may be dragging the speed down from 300 mbps, but work fine at 145 mbps?

no other devices running simultaneously. Running a weather station on the 5ghz at 300 with no problem.
