The easy fix is to either pay for the data plan on your Xoom or pay for WiFi Hotspot on your DroidX.

Because this was one of the reasons I bought the xoom instead of the ipad2. I could not get my ipad to teather with my Droid x.

I just tried the bluetooth tether to my Droid X and it still works.

I find that Blue Tooth tether works flawlessly w/ DX on xoom. I had it going w/ root and now on stock non rooted GB. No problems here

No problem with bluetooth tethering here either...acutally works better now.

Do you have the wi-fi only Xoom or the 3G? My wi-fi only works fine on the DX. Maybe there is a difference if you have the 3G version.... ?

My wifi only Xoom works fine with BT tether to DX. I thought it didn't work at first but I discovered that the wifi on the DX must be off. It only works if the DX is using 3G, not wifi.

Yes, use the bluetooth method and turn the WIFI off.

Yes, Gingerbread on the Droid X and wireless tether (Bluetooth) works if the DX is using 3G, not wifi.

Is there a resource out there on doing the bluetooth method. Im just not getting it I guess. I am still getting the page for to buy data package. Ive got the laptop on a bluetooth dongle I had laying around, connected to it fine
