Wireless tether help

I did search the web about this topic, I'm just a little confused and need some help.

I have froyo 2.2
Unrevoked 3
Unrevoked forever
Clock work mod

My tether is no longer working...how do I fix it? I would like to keep my unrevoked root method, if possible.

Any clue to when/what u were doing when it stopped working? Im assuming you tried to reload it already. Did you change kernel? I dont believe it works on the stock one, could be wrong... Wait no it works on Myn's by default and his is stock.

Yeah if you download it yourself pre09 is the one that seems to be working for everyone.

I think the OP is actually referring to Sprint's WiFi Hotspot .... not a rooted application, otherwise the reference losing root wouldnt make much sense. (why would you lose root trying to fix a root application? smell what im cooking)

OP, please clarify then further describe the issue. Are you getting an error? You do pay for the service correct? Does your PC see the phone as a local network? These are the types of things that help us help you.

Also, there is a sticky in the hacking section regarding this very app. You don't need to change anything with your kernel. You're problem is you have likely downloaded the version from the market which won't work with a 2.2 EVO. You need to go to the link posted above and to the developers google code page and download pre 9 which is a topic covered in the WT sticky.

Use have to use a compatible kernel (not stock)

You need a kernel that has net filter enabled which HTC kernels do by default. That's why people could do the old unrevoked method which is just a sticky root and it would work.

Other phones like dell (and maybe Samsung) do not have this by default.

I'm very sorry for posting on the wrong board, and thank you very mutch for your helP. You were absolutely correct. I downloaded the version from the market and it was for android2.1 or whatever we were on before. All it took to fix was the download of the pre9 version of the software. Thank you so much!

When I was reading into this I saw allot of confusing things, like updating my kernel, something about how unrevoked wasn't good, etc.

Thank you again! And if anyone runs into the problem I had, follow the link above and download the pre 9 version of the software which, at this current time, is located on the far right hand side of the page.
