Wireless Tether

Hey all, so I have wireless tether on my phone now. My wife recently got a KinM. Its the second version of the phone that doesn't require that data plan. We don't have the money for a second data plan or else we wouldn't be here. Anyway, whenever I try to connect her phone via Wi-Fi to mine for internet, it just doesn't work. Is there a work around this or does anyone even know. I hope so because this way we can use my data plan for the both of us and we will be a happy family!

Most definitely. Wireless Tether works with my computers but when I try to connect my wife's Kin, it just doesn't connect.

You know, I've never thought to test a phone to phone tethered connection. I'll get back to you on this one.

Try it with an iPod touch. That should work.

I had trouble getting the galaxy tab at work to sync up, but one of the test phones worked. I switched to barnacle and it worked much better. Apparently the Wireless Tether app in the market is actually out of date/abandoned? I'm not really sure but you should try barnacle.

Ok, as a follow up, I was able to get another Fascinate to tether to mine via wifi. Sheepdog is right though, the market version of wireless tether is very poor for some reason. I always get the newest version from HERE and install the .apk manually. Just copy to your SD card, select it with a file explorer on the phone, and choose install.

I already have the latest version from the Google Code page. I thought that was it but I made sure that I did have the latest version. I don't have an iPod touch but I remember my Brother in law has a fascinate and I tried to connect that and it didn't work. I might have to try barnacle. I hope this is helping others than just myself!

I don't have any. I just try to connect the Kin. I have tried every computer that I have and they all work except with the Kin. I also tried Barnacle and nothing. Man this sucks. Did you do the access control function?
