After reading and replying in a couple of posts with questions/problems people have been having I thought I would make a few suggestions.

1. Ability to turn screen off when recieving a text without having to turn of all notifications.

2. Ability to add/edit your sig line and call back # in messaging app.

3. A keyboard that is more user friendly, one that you dont have to disable and change features to get it to work correctly.

4. And of course ability to delete bloatware without adding anymore. I know thats not going to happen. LOL

I know I can root and ROM and download apps, but I just think some of these simple things should just be built in.

My wish list:

1. Wi-Fi toggle with all the other toggles. Eliminate the persistent notification.

2. No SIM detected fix.

3. The brightness slider in the notification bar that's in other GS3's. (Though I use the display brightness app, which is even better)

4. Ability to set different vibration patterns for a text message vs phone call.

That's the list off the top of my head...

I wonder if anybody from Verizon or Samsung reads message boards like this to collect data for update suggestions?

Best topic/thread I've seen on here for a while.

- Boot up/ Shutdown sound toggle on/off
- User defined light color/pattern for different notifications
- Screen shut off from text messages
- Software update to increase performance of the radio
- Little more customizable lock screen (for people who don't want to pay for widgetlocker)

This thread could be in the general S3 thread, not Verizon specific

They probably browse forums like this for marketing research, but I'd be surprised if they pass on update ideas to the programmers.

VZW S3 owners need another thread to complain about the VZW specific things like the persistent WiFi notification though! :)

I think we are talking about something that can be included in the next update, not another app that we can download.

Meh. After rooting, and some pretty simple changes/app additions, I can honestly say I have no real issues with the phone.

My biggest issue with it is I really have no compelling reason to tinker with it.

I've turned off updates and will be in no hurry to update to JB.

That will never happen! And even if it was included in an update, its still a downloaded app..
PS. Take a better look at the this thread and tell me why you would pick on me about showing someone an app that works great since his request will never happen.
Trying to contribute instead of slaming posts...

Don't worry about the poo-poo-ers. Your post was spot on.

The bigger question is: What phone comes with a built in "soft off" widget from the manufacturer? Why would anyone expect to have a factory "off" widget when the factory gave you a power button on the side of the phone?

Load the app from the market and be happy.

Now most of the suggestions I've read in here are easily obtainable from CM10 and other ROMs. Hope that Samsung is still looking at Cyanogenmod, because some of their features do make it into these phones.

Just a quick question though. I did see a suggestion of adding callback/sig to SMS messages and I have to ask why..?? Your callback is literally in the SMS message and a repetitive sig (especially in a long conversation) just gets annoying.
