Well, now that I've got my S7 edge all set up and running great, I decided to put the MM update on my S6 edge. When reading some of the problems others have had, I was a little nervous. But it went off without a hitch. Phone is operating beautifully. It's a bit smoother, fingerprint scanner is definitely faster, and battery life is improved while using. Its fantastic while just sitting and I believe its because of doze. So, very happy.

Yeah! My new S6 edge is running great on marshmallow. But i dont know if it actually improved from lollipop as i immediately updated to 6.0.1 as soon as i got my S6 edge. But still, my battery drained about 10% overnight while my S5 drained 0% overnight. Maybe it's because i use the night clock feature.

So far it looks that my S5 battery life is better than my S6 edge. But i hope it will improve overtime. Only been using S6 edge for 2 days.

My Marshmallow install also when very well. Phone is running noticeably smoother. I agree, finger print scanner does seem to react quicker. My battery life seems to be about the same as before the update.

At first I didn't think the update was a big deal. Visually it was almost the same.

But having used this for a long time now. I can say that it has improved the experience significantly. I have an ipad mini 2. And it's very smooth. And for a long time I thought that the smoothness of iOS had the S6 edge beat. Don't get me wrong, it was still plenty fast. But I'm talking about fluidity. Whenever I used the S6 after using the ipad it felt different.

But not anymore. I'm very happy that S6 edge now feels exactly as smooth as the iOS devices :) plus having android and the options to customize it makes the whole experience even better.

I like Samsung's direction. They have actually started doing (almost) everything right.

Well, as I stated above, I've got both the S7 edge and S6 edge. If you're happy with the S6 edge, you'd go out of your mind with the S7. They took all that could be improved and did exactly that. The S7 flies. Battery life is a day and a half easy because of MM and the bigger battery. Even though I've got 128GB on my S6 edge, its wonderful to have the sd card back. And of course the slightly bigger screen is just the right size. And the back is contoured just so for a great feel. Im using the new samsung lock screen called "good lock" that's really pretty cool. Unfortunately it's only for the S7 variants right now.

No man I don't think I will update to the S7. I don't think there are enough reasons to do so. Yes if you're really fed up of the battery life then it makes sense. And if you have a lot of money then by all means the update might be justified. But I think the S6 edge is just as good as the S7 considering the release dates and the current prices.

And also, as much as I love Samsung. Updates have started to feel important to me. The stock Google experience is something else, still. And I'd love to go Stock next time. Getting timely updates.

The difference in Camera qualities and built qualities have narrowed down a lot recently. No phone is objectively better than the other. So I think I'll go a different route with my next update. Probably Nexus!

Very true! But FYI the good lock is available to all samsung devices running MM, Not just only the S7. You can download the APK from internet and install good lock to any samsung devices running 6.0 and above.
