So I have been on iPhone for a couple months, so I have not been on AC, and all of the sudden Google is not making Nexus and they have some weird Pixel phone? And before you say to go read articles I tried it seems like no one is discussion how this happened so it must of happened a while ago. So what is going on? There is far to many articles to read, so please tell me what the heck is happening and what this phone is?

By the way I stopped reading back when all they posted was the Poke Go stuff just so you know how long I have been gone minus a couple visits for awful allo.

I read some more and saw specs and stuff and just wow I am so behind and confused currently

Google is releasing a new line of phones being announced Tuesday that are more in line with the Pixel line of products (higher quality, more expensive, etc). The previously leaked Marlin and Sailfish devices are these phones and they're not Nexus phones.

Thats obvious but id like something a little bit more specific, are these suppose to compete with iPhone or are they gonna be for a small group like Nexus

Everything is speculation until Tuesday, but based on what they've been doing over the last couple of weeks - which is advertising the event, and the rumored information we have so far, it looks like they're trying to make a stronger movement into the consumer sales space with phones made for consumers, rather than developers. Right now for the US markets we're expecting it to be for sale on the Google Store with financing options available, as well as with carriers, at least with Verizon and possibly others. Whereas with the Nexus program, Google was in a limited partnership with an OEM who had some design and other forms of control over the process, Google this time has HTC basically acting as a factory for Google's own designs and ideas, essentially treating HTC like they did Quantum Computing with the Pixel C.

Leaked images of both devices from Telus in Canada (I just lined the pictures up to compare top and bottom bezels and adjusted them both to scale based on the known size of their screens).
