I wonder why the Canadian Carriers have stopped selling the Note 7, yes I know what happened with the battery but that shouldn't stop them from taking pre-orders for the Note 7, once they get their new supply they can ship the phones to their clients. It's better for them anyways as the carriers would be making money.....unless Samsung doesn't plan on releasing the Note 7 again but only hold up their end of the deal by replacing the ones that have been purchased.

That's pretty much the direction given by Samsung to all vendors: Stop new sales, let's replace units with new ones, then we'll resume sales. Until now, their direction (or even if the new units were approved or not) wasn't too clear and they couldn't risk handing out refunds for unfulfilled orders. The Note 7 is coming, it will resume sales, and no, Samsung is not planning on stopping production (although they might be thinking about fast-tracking the S8, but that's another story).
