Won't charge off brand battery

I bought an off brand battery which is supposed to be compatible with my D2. I put it in the phone and it powered up. However, the upper right corner displayed a black battery with a question mark over it. When I plugged the charger in, it gave me an error message saying the battery was not valid and could not be charged and needed to be replaced with a regular Motorola battery.

Is there any way to make the off brand battery work fully with the phone, or should I seek a refund?

Seek a refund. A lot of off-brand batteries have issues. Your better off spending the extra cash for a good Motorola battery.

I got in contact with the seller and will be sending the battery back tomorrow. I've already purchased a real Motorola battery from Android Central.

I have learned many years ago, stay with the brand. I only use brand batteries and accessories. Except for cases.

That's actually my policy. I thought the battery was a Motorola one. I ordered a Motorola battery from this site.
