wont let me add my existing google account in settings

So I have a motorola X 2 with Android 2.3.5. I have a superuser icon on my apps but when I access the app it doesn't really show me much I am confused about the rooting process and all that goes along with it I bought this phone and am unfamiliar with how exactly to work it although I noticed some of the advantages such as quick charging long battery time. And also very quick and smooth scrolling. I cannot access my Google account via settings. when I go to google.com and login I can access Google and Gmail but when I try to go to the Play Store it says that my browser is unsupported. What does it sound like and what should I do to fix and advance my rooting experience. Also I do not have a computer to do anything with but with the right information I can get access to my uncles computer.

do you have 2 factor authentication turned on?
if so you need to create an application password
