Won't let me log onto Email

My mom just factory reset her Droid 2 due to lag problems and whatnot, I really don't know. Anyway, she was trying to get on her bellsouth email through the stock email app, and it won't connect to it. She has the password and everything. I've tried rebooting the phone and taking the battery out and everything. What do you guys think?
