won't let me update

I've been trying to update my DX to the pre-ginger but when I go About phone> System updates it says "sorry can't update at this time. Try again later." Wifi is running and I have absolutely no issues with the phone other than this. What's the deal here?

what system version are you currently on? if its 2.3.340 then you are up to date as far as offical releases go

thats odd.... dumb question have you tried a battery pull just to reset and then try it again?

I have… its been doing this for a week or so now. I thought maybe there was a link or some alternative method of accessing the DL.

I have no idea why doing a prl update (*228, option 2) would have anything to do with being able to run the Froyo update, but my daughter in law's Droid X has been stuck on 2.1 since she got it. The Check For Update on the phone has always been grayed out. Today, she did the *228 and after wards was able to download the update. Doesn't make sense to me, but it works.
