Work for AT&T, but want a Verizon Razr.

Ok this might sound wierd, but I work for AT&T and get my cell service for free.

But I am obsessed with the Droid Razr. I dunno what it is about that phone, but I really want it! But I am having trouble justifying to myself having to pay for Verizon service every month when I get my current AT&T service for free.

I was also looking at maybe getting an imported xt910, but what worries me is there wouldn't be any warranty in the USA if ya needed it. Plus the Verizon Razr is LTE and I live in an LTE area.

So just curious to see if you guys thinks it's too crazy of a thing to do just for a phone? I stopped at Best Buy today again to play with the Razr, and spent about 30 minutes with it. There isn't a whole heck of a lot of difference between that and my GS2, but I am still drawn to the Razr.

My buddies think I'm crazy. hehe

I think you're crazy as well. Unless your service is crap where you live, I'd stick with att. You're razr envy will go away as soon as something new comes along.

Well before AT&T lost their contract for the iPhone, we had millions of people come to AT&T just for the iPhone. So it seems many people chase phones.

The LG Nitro may have a nice screen, but I wouldn't buy an LG. I think they make crap and hardly ever update their phones OS.

Sure the GS2 is a great phone. The 2.3.6 update buggered up the battery pretty bad, but I went back to 2.3.4 and everything is fine again. But like most people on these forums, I'm a phone junky and get bored with phones quickly. The Razr just is the latest thing that caught my eye.

And someone brought up a good point. Just cause someone works for Chevy, doesn't mean many don't drive Fords. Just cause you work for a company doesn't mean you need to buy their product.

But your point is valid. Paying for service when I currently get it for free is why I haven't bought a Razr yet. But I'm still thinking about it. I figure I'd spend about $80 or so a month on verizon. I spend almost three times that just in Starbucks every month. If I just cut back on my coffee I should be ok. hehe

As far as working for verizon, I think about that sometimes.

AT&T is a horrible company to work for. Upper management has no idea what they are doing. They make bad choices, sell crap phones, and worry about the dumbest stuff. The Store Reps have to deal with completely stupid crap when the company should be worrying about more important things instead of coming up with dumb rules.

I don't know much about the inner workings of Verizon, but it seems from the outside to be a much better run company than AT&T. Verizon went right ahead and went full force into LTE. AT&T decided instead to put off LTE deployment and just spend a ton of money with the HSPA crap. I think we would be much further along with LTE if our upper management actually had a clue.

I just think AT&T is poorly managed.

My bill is NOT free, and I"ve been with AT&T since the beginning, then Cingular, then SW Bell and on and on. I'm switching if they don't have this phone available by the time I'm ready to upgrade.

Well this thread is over a year old... So a better phone will probably be out by the time you can upgrade...
