Worth it at full price?

So I'm currently a Verizon subscriber, but month to month. I've been thinking about what to do as far as contracts go, and I've been drawn to the G2X. I want a dual core phone but fast data speeds, and the G2X has both. I wanted the Bionic on Verizon, but that's delayed until summer.

Here's the problem: I'm still within the 90 day waiting period with t-mobile, so I'd have to pay full price for the G2X. Its not outrageous at $499, which is only $199 more than the Droid Charge, but its still $500.

Thoughts?

For me it would be worth it. How much longer do you have before the 90 days is up?

45-60. My final statement was a little over 30 days ago. I spoke with a T-mobile customer rep. and they said I could either go through activations and reactivate my old account to and go back to my former status/seniority for upgrades, or I could do a prepaid monthly. I'm not sure which I'd choose. I don't mind going back to the two year.

Would they let you do a new two year on your old seniority? If so it's kinda a no-brainer.

If I could buy all my phones off contract and do month to month I would. I like to change phones so for me it's better. But that's not the case for everyone. :P

Also, in 60 days the Sensation will probably be out. That phone is good too, especially if you like Sense.

It's a good time to be an Android lover. :D

Basically, yes. It would be a new 2 year with my old seniority.

Crap I forgot about the Sensation! Here's the thing though. I like sense, but it also really gets on my nerves sometimes. Its too bloated and too baroque, especially after coming from a stripped down phone like the Droid X.

That, and if I like the Sensation that much, I can always hock the G2x on ebay. (so far, what I see of the sensation, though, I'm not sure it would be worth it)

Update: called tmobile custom service and they gave the all clear for me to go ahead and do it. I will be paying full price since I'm resuming the contract.

Here's a question though: should I ask for a credit for my ETF? The only reason I paid it is because I left; now that I'm back shouldn't I get that money back? (especially since I'm paying full price for the phone?)

I would definitely look into doing that. And I don't see why they wouldn't.

Wow so t-mobile just knocked my socks off. The rep wouldn't let me pay full price since I already paid the etf, so he called customer service, got me a temporary number with the new activation price, and then ported my number to that new account. Totally awesome.

BTW; the speeds I'm getting with t-mobile's faux '4G' have so far blown the speeds on the Thunderbolt out of the water. Maxed out at an eye watering 12 down and 4 up.

That's awesome. I've heard good things about tmo customer service. I haven't really had to deal with them myself.

I've noticed that this phone gets faster speeds than the myTouch 4G, also.

I feel the same way about sense. Lol

That's great, and I hope you absolutely love your new phone!!

I do love it so far. The speeds I'm seeing are pretty comparable to what I was getting on LTE with Verizon.

The device itself is a tank. Easily the best build quality outside of Apple. I love the way the screen slopes off at the sides, it just feels so great. The only thing that I'm going to have to get used to is the smaller screen (coming from a 4.3 incher), and the awkward use of space for the capacitive buttons. But I'll get used to it.

I was shocked. But the rep seriously wouldn't let me leave paying full price. He even said that haha. He called activations told them what was going down and they told him exactly how he could get me the phone for $199. Because he did that I got the insurance, since I'm sure he gets some sort of commission on that. (no biggie, I was considering it anyways)

Who knows about Sense and the Sensation. I really like the G2X, so I'll stick with that for a while. If I like the Sensation, it'll probably be priced at $499 like the rest of the handsets, so I can sell the G2x on ebay.

After having the G2X I have no desire to get the Sensation. I'm sure it's a great phone, but I have no issues with the G2X.

I'm not 100% yet, but I just got the G2x yesterday so I'll have to see. So far, like I said, the build quality of it just blows my mind. The screen is also a fantastic competitor for the Retina display.

One thing's for sure; with the speeds being about the same now, its going to be a long while until I take another gander at Verizon's LTE phones since they have such huge battery issues.
