Worth it, maybe?

I have a Galaxy s20 Plus. It's a nice phone, but have always wanted a pixel, and the 4a looks great. But going from a 6.7" screen to a 5.8, also from a bigger battery to a smaller one, worth it?

Sometimes get tired of having to stretch my thumb for one handed use. Just kicking the tires.

I've been a Note guy forever only skipping 2 versions since it launched and have a N20 coming Monday, but I am loving my 4a. It is unbelievably quick, battery life is great as is the screen. Haptics are even better than the 3a which are already better than anything from Samsung and build quality is excellent. It is light, very comfortable to hold and I barely notice it in my pocket. Speakers are loud and clear and we finally have a modern looking Pixel. I honestly do not have a single complaint and transitioning from a jumbo screen to a large screen is not an issue for me and I think you would love this phone.
At $350 Google won't be able to keep them in stock.

Pixel 4a is just too small for my liking. 6 inches would be my absolute lowest size I could use. If you liked the size of the s20 plus, the Pixel will seem tiny in comparison. The pixel 3a xl was much better size wise.

I don't understand the large phone fad myself. The 4a is perfect for me.

Because once you get used to the larger screen, its hard for most to go back. Remember when people mocked the original Note. Well that's because we were all used to 3.7 to 4.5 inch screens. How quickly most got used to 6+

I don't think there is much to understand about screen or device size preference. We are all equal in many ways but not all wired the same.

is the 5 really worth the extra cost over the 4a or 4a 5g? Maybe a $599 would make it enticing or a nice black friday deal...what about a pixel 4 over the 5?

rocking the pixel 1 until its demise(which some days it looks could come closer..others not so much)

Not all of us. My only really large device was the Nexus 6p, and after that phone I have used nothing but the smaller Pixel models. I'm able to use them one handed, whereas the 6p I had to really do some hand gymnastics to use it that way. And doing that makes it more likely that I'll end up dropping it and most likely damaging it. Now if I was always going to use it 2 handed, I'd probably opt for the larger models, but there are a lot of times where that isn't possible, so that why I go small.
