Would a Moto G6 Plus work in the US?

[Android Central Question]

I live in Brazil and I was about to buy a Moto G6 Plus here. But I'm moving to the United States in a few weeks, and I'll have to use a SIM card from an american cell phone carrier.

I know this particular model isn't sold in the USA. Does anyone know if the phone will work there?

And what if the phone has a problem, will I be able to get it fixed in the United States? I'll be living there for a year, so I need to make sure it will work before I buy it.

Welcome to Android Central! That model supports LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 7, and 28: https://www.phonemore.com/motorola-moto-g6-plus-tv-xt1926-8/specs/3946. The only one of these bands used by US carriers is band 5, and that's US Cellular, which still uses CDMA for voice calls. Since that G6 Plus doesn't support CDMA, it won't work.
