Would I regret getting the OP 3T?

Hello, I've seen all the positive reviews and feedback about the OP 3T.
But since my last LG G4 (which went into bootloop after the warranty had expired) I became more skeptical and I decided to get an iphone next (because of the better customer care).
Now since I don't have enough money for an iphone or any flagship for that matter, I wanna ask about the history of Oneplus (from oneplus one uptill now) has there been any kind of deal breakers with Onepluses? (like G4's bootloop or Notes catching fire)
I wanna have a phone that would last more than year basically and that wouldn't die on me because of a manufacturing error.

Never buy Chinese junk, no offence to anyone. Google oneplus and other chinese manufacturers benchmark cheating.
Since you want a phone that could last a year and it shouldn't be a flagship phone so check out Samsung or Motorola's budget range (Yes Lenovo installed Superfish malware in laptops and is Chinese too, but they are clean as of today when it comes to smartphones) Also they never cheat when it comes to specs and you can remove all crap after root. Just my 2 cents.

The OP3T is one of the best devices that money can buy. No matter if its built in China or not. I came from Moto and their USA build devices and I find OP to be just as good if not better.

In any case the reviews speak for them selves. Check them out on YouTube. You will not regret getting the OP3T. I love mine.

IMHO, the OnePlus 3T is on a par with most of the current flagship models and for roughly half the price. Build quality is excellent and with 6GB of RAM it is fast and smooth. They are now on their 3rd release of Nougat which rectifies the benchmark tweaks mentioned in post #2 and which all manufacturers have used at one time or another. I do not regret switching from 7 years of Samsung flagship phones to OnePlus, at all.

I think with any phone you purchase today there will always be something wrong with it and thats normal. No one has ever built a perfect phone that people just go YES i love everything. Sure the device is made by a company originating from Guangdong (China) but they have been doing better and better each year and the device is really good.

As far as i know, there are no major problems with it like batteries exploding. Even the Google Pixel has some issues So i would say give it a try You may be very happy you did.

Samsung phones purchased on AT&T or Verizon in the US are bootloader locked and cannot be rooted. If you are going to buy a phone outright, buy the best phone you can. In the $430 range, that's the OnePlus 3T or the ZTE Axon 7. Also just FYI, OnePlus is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oppo who makes the best Blu-ray player on the planet. Super high end videophile hardware that is on the bleeding edge of technology.

Just curious, but what cellphones are NOT made in China? I had a cellphone salesman make that same comment to me not long ago, until I pointed out that all cellphones are made in China. At least, to the best of my knowledge. And he had that, "Oh, yeah." look on his face.

Most Samsung, LG, ASUS and HTC phones are not, although some are.

Plain & simple - Imho you wouldn't regret buying a 1+3t unless you want a top of the line (Pixel, Samsung, Iphone) quality camera (1+3t's camera is still one of the best if not the best at that price range) or if you have to have a Quad HD display over OnePlus' 1080p display, which could be better for VR. It's ticky tacky, nit picky stuff if you ask me. Otherwise save yourself a few hundred dollars. As everyone has said, performance is great..

Not all, the flagship one's are now being manufactured in India too. Mine was manufactured in South Korea.

And with my original post, I never wanted to offend anyone like I mentioned before also. It is just that I will never trust a company that cheats on benchmarks. Cheers.

If I'm not mistaken, cheating on benchmarks used to be the standard operating practice for most mfgs. I guess time heals, but never is a long time.

Looks like your non-cheating choices are limited to Google, Motorola, and Nvidia. Of course that data is 3+ years old and doesn't include OnePlus and others who've been caught since then.

I base Android performance on real world tests on YouTube videos of the phones being used side-by-side, rather than a benchmark.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply to me! I've just ordered the Oneplus 3T, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed @becool773 to be honest a famous manufacturer doesn't guarantee the reliability as I mentioned LG messed up before and I personally don't like Samsung.
So with the budget I set it was either OP 3T or HTC 10.
If I receive another faulty device I'll just quit smartphones I guess:'(

Remember, this doesn't cost as much as similarly-specced devices, so some compromises may have to be done in order to fit in that price-group. However, what modern smartphone doesn't have its own set of compromises anyway? The 3T is superb value for money, and is extremely competitive with even higher-priced flagships.

Is it a "flagship killer"? Of course not, and OnePlus did the right thing by dropping that moniker, but it does offer an experience that's very close to that of a proper flagship, and that is automatically a big thumbs up from me.

It's impossible to say if any individual phone will develop a fault, but if it helps my Oneplus 2 is still running fine, and it's under constant load.

The Oneplus 3 has a much nicer, sleeker design. But it's still built like a tank in terms of build quality.

I think only you can answer that question when it comes to purchasing a device, or anything for that matter! But as other users have said, any device you purchase will eventually have issues of some kind. My LG G3 never bootlooped, but the battery was corrupt and it froze from time to time. It's kind of a leap of faith when you make a long-term purchase like a mobile device!

But the OnePlus 3T is a great buy and is a good value for the money. It has a solid spec roundup and I've seen many users quite happy with their purchase. My advice to you is to get your hands on one to see if you like how it runs, feels, etc. Or watch unboxing and review videos on YouTube! You'll get a lot of good information that way. Android Authority posts lots of good videos, as well as Android Central!
